Third Prize: Gianluca Zeppetelli. On Thursday we held the Twenty Minute Art Battle which was judged by popular vote. Two winners emerged: Jackson Batty and James Stewart. Congratulations to all of Loyola's artists!

Master Chef Loyola

May 16 - Loyola's first annual Master Chef session was held on Friday during lunch and it was a heated competition fought between 4 groups of two. While three groups were comprised of Sec 5 students, the underdog team, made of Adamo Poliseno and Gabriel Masi surprised the judges and audience with their incredible chicken dinner. Thank you to all participants, judges and audience members that helped to make this competition a success.

LURN Club needs gardeners

May 3 - The Loyola Urban Renewal Network is Loyola's only organization dedicated to the development of a sustainable school environment. Through establishing community gardens, the club is bringing awareness of the importance of healthy eating and the impact our throwaway culture has on our planet. We are currently expanding our garden by 400% this year to accommodate a growing demand for fresh produce.  We will be growing beets, tomatoes, onions and sunflowers with the help of class 1F. New planter boxes are to be built this Friday but the club needs more help. Come to our weekly Friday meetings in 221 for more info. Doors are always open to welcome new members. Please see Mr. Morrow for more details

Loyola History Warriors

May 2 - Congratulations to the Loyola History Warriors - Darcy Mazloum, Kieran Dill, Andrzej Fedorowicz and Dmytro Pacholuk - who traveled to Toronto on the weekend to compete in the Canadian History Bee and Bowl Championships. The competition was tough against teams from as far away as Edmonton, and the History Warriors showed great knowledge, team work and good sportsmanship through ten rounds of competition. Well done!
