GMAA Peewee Scouts are heading to the finals

March 22 - The Scouts showed unity and resiliency yesterday in their semi-final game. After their opponent tied the game with 10 minutes to go, the Scouts kept playing their strong team game and were rewarded with two goals to win 5-3 and secure their place in the GMAA final. The game will take place on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Ed-Meagher Arena. Well done Scouts. Check out Tom Reynolds’ pictures of the game.


Cross country running

March 22 - Attention to all those who are interested in running the Halo Road Race: the deadline to sign up is April 11th. The list is outside the teacher's room, on the pillar. The race will be held May 18th. Runners must attend a minimum of 5 practices to qualify for the race. There is a practice this Thursday at 3:20 p.m., runners are to meet the coaches next to the weight room.


Mikus wins his first tournament, ends Coré’s perfect streak

March 2 - Veteran Stephen Mikus won his first LTTC tournament on Thursday at the St. Angela of the Cross Open. Mikus was appearing in his third tournament final of his career (all this season) and defeated number two seed Christopher Coré 2-0. It was the first defeat of the season for Coré.


Bantam basketball Braves lose in city championship final

March 2 - The team played in the GMAA finals yesterday. They lost a close game to Westmount High School. Congratulations to the team for their great season, All the players contributed to the team's success during the season. Good luck next year at the Midget level. The team wishes to thank all the teachers who allowed them to participate.


Intramural basketball results

March 2 - IBA RECAP: Blue Devils squeak out their first win 25-24 versus the Spartans. Players of the Game: Michael Pavan (Blue Devils), Luca Michetti (Spartans). Warriors of the Game: Kyle Hogue (Blue Devils), Alex Di Nolfo (Spartans). Game #2 was a close high scoring affair. Jayhawks secured their first win by defeating the under-staffed Gators 58-54. Players of the Game: Ben Naaman (Jayhawks), Domenico Romeo (Gators). Warriors of the Game: Michael Murphy (Jayhawks), Anthony Soles (Gators).

Loyola Wrestlers defeat GMAA all-stars

February 10 - Yesterday at Vincent-Massey Collegiate, the defending champions, Loyola Warriors, took on the GMAA all-stars and prevailed by the score of 47-30. The team will practice today and Monday after school in preparation for next Thursday's GMAA championships. Well done Warriors!


Senior Intramural Basketball

February 13 - IBA RECAP from Friday, Feb.10: It was a back and forth battle between the Longhorns and Tar Heels. Longhorns won a tight affair 27-26. Players of the Game: Anthony Gentile (Tar Heels), Jason Kidd (Longhorns). Warriors of the Game: Aidan Dill (Tar Heels), James Cognata (Longhorns). In the second game, Hoyas got points from 9 different players and went on to beat the Gators 36-29. Players of the Game: Alessandro Del Peschio (Gators), Antonio Rossi (Hoyas). Warriors of the Game: Anthony Soles (Gators), Grant Allatt (Hoyas). Games resume today: Hoosiers vs Wildcats at 3:20 p.m. followed by Fightin' Irish vs Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m.


Juvenile basketball team end regular season with a win

February 10 - The Juvenile basketball team ended the regular season yesterday with a hard fought win over Bialik. The team would like to thank all the fans who supported them this season. Your support would be doubly appreciated during the playoffs.


Wrestling team completes perfect regular season

February 8 - The wrestling Warriors finished the regular season undefeated in the GMAA with a 59-20 victory over KSS yesterday in Kahnawake. The team will participate in the All-Star meet tomorrow at Vincent-Massey Collegiate. Wrestlers who participate in the competition will be dismissed after period 3.

Spartan Warriors

February 28 - Loyola Spartans. Take advantage of lower registration fees for the Spartan Sprint, happening on May 27th. See or email Mr. Morrow for more details. AROO!


Crossfit Club

February 22 - Calling all Loyola Crossfitters. The Loyola Crossfit club will be resuming after spring break with a series of WODs to get everyone back in shape for the summer. No idea what Crossfit is? It is a fitness system designed to generally prepare any athlete for any possible physical challenge. Great for all ages and skill levels. Jonah Smith wins three medals at swimming championship

February 20 - Congratulations to all twelve swimmers who participated in the GMAA Swim Team finals on February 16. Special mention goes to Jonah Smith who won gold in backstroke and butterfly and silver in freestyle. As well, special mention goes to our captain, William Stone-Barney for his strong leadership and to our only Juvenile swimmer, Mathieu Brawley for being the fastest senior swimmer, winning gold in breastroke. Thanks to all swimmers and managers for your hard work this season and we'll see you in the pool next year.


Wrestling team wins gold

February 17 - The Loyola wrestling team won the GMAA city championship on February 16 at Kahnawake Survival School. The Warriors completed their perfect season by repeating as GMAA champions. Loyola took home a total of 22 medals, 7 of them gold, in one of the most remarkable wrestling performances in recent years. Congratulations Warriors! February 14 - It was The CHAOS CUP finals on February 13 and team Maroon swept and won all three games. Read more details


GMAA Peewee hockey Scouts win silver at LCC tournament

February 13 - The GMAA Peewee team won the silver medal at the LCC tournament this past weekend. After winning its first three games, the team lost in a hard-fought battle by a score of 2-1 on a late winning goal against a strong UCC team from Toronto. The Scouts took second place in a very competitive 12-team tournament. Well done Scouts!
