Athletic awards dinner

May 19 - The annual athletic awards dinner took place last night at Loyola and the most distinguished athlete was Will Matthews who was awarded the Sportsmanship Trophy for his involvement in the sports program throughout his high school career. Ultimate playoffs

May 18 - Ultimate playoff match ups are posted on the Intramural pillar. Quarter-final games will be played on Tuesday, May 23 at 3:20 p.m. with Black Ice vs Green Monster and Gold Rush vs Stone Cold. At 4:00 p.m. the quarter-final winners will play Pink Peril or Limelight in the Semi-finals. Finals will be played on Thursday, May 25 at 3:20 p.m., followed by another epic teacher vs students game. Juvenile rugby team wins the GMAA sevens tournament

May 15 - Congratulations to the Juvenile Rugby team who entered three teams into Friday's GMAA 7's. Excellent efforts from all involved and the boys represented their school extremely well. Tournament MVP for Loyola C was Gavin Delaney, while Calvin Mazloum and Neos Dionisopoulos shared the award for Loyola B. Loyola A defeated Loyola B in the semi final and then went on to claim the title with a 31-0 victory in the final over Stanstead. Alex Lee picked up the MVP award for Loyola A in the final with 2 excellent tries, along with outstanding efforts from all starters and impact substitutes. The team now gets back into 15's with games this week on the Ed Meagher Field against St. Thomas and CVR.

April 25 - The team of warriors grows heroically every week and we have recently doubled our members. Are you ready for the challenge? Come race with us on May 27 up and over the hills and negotiate some of the world's most demanding obstacles. See Mr. Morrow for more details!


Wildcats win IBA crown

April  6 - It was a battle of the undefeated on April 5 as the Hoyas kept the Wildcats in check with a 16-10 halftime lead. The Hoyas kept the lead for most of the game but just couldn’t put it away. Continue reading on our Intramural Sports page and check out a picture of the winning team.


Bantam hockey team wins gold

April 2 - Congratulations to the Bantam Braves for winning the 2017 QIHL Championship. The Braves held a 1-0 lead until the first minute of the third, when LCC tied it up, but the Braves responded and won the finals 5-1. Congratulations to Anthony Dicriscio, who lead the team with a hat trick, and to Emmanuel Meduri who was awarded the player of the game award.


Peewee hockey team wins gold

April 2 - The Scouts scored four late third period goals in yesterday's league semi final to erase a 4-1 Heritage Regional lead, en route to a dramatic 5-4 victory and a date in the finals. In the finals, the team jumped out to an early lead and enjoyed a 4-2 advantage after two periods. However, a late charge by Academie Saint Louis, that resulted in a last minute goal, sent the game to overtime. Captain Philip Hacala's breakaway goal (pictured below) 23 seconds into overtime help capture the Quebec Interscholastic Hockey League Championship for Loyola. The team would like to thank the staff, faculty, students and parents for their support all season.

Junior softball

May 12 - What an opening day! The Red Sox showed their blue collar roots and with a full team and stellar defence were too much for the Yankees who put up a great effort despite injury and an incomplete team. Player of the game: Mathieu Lafortune and Gabriel Fontana. In today's action the Red Sox take on the Blue Jays. Opening pitch at 3:30 p.m.


Bantam tennis team wins silver

May 11 - The bantam tennis team did even better than we thought. They came second and will all receive silver medals. Again congratulations on a job well done.


Juvenile rugby defeats LRHS

May 11 - Congratulations to the Juvenile Rugby team for their 29-0 win over LRHS. A great team effort with some excellent tries by Anthony Soles, Ryan Perkins, Conor Droz and the Mazloum brothers. Player's player was awarded to Connor Droz, closely followed by Kobe Archer and Will Matthews. Both Will and Kobe tied for the Warrior of the game award. Next up is the GMAA 7's tournament on Friday.


Juvenile rugby team returns from New Brunswick

May 5 - Congratulations to the Juvy Rugby team who had a 57-15 win over CVR yesterday. Players player went to Calvin Mazloum for scoring a hat trick of tries, closely followed by Alex Lee who scored his first ever try in the first 1/4, followed by one for the highlight reel in the 2nd half. Warrior of the game was split between Tyler Clow and Will Matthews for their tireless work ethic. Div 1 gets some rest now as Div 3 take on Royal West this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. on the Ed Meagher Field.


Teachers defeat IBA all stars

May 4 - On Wednesday, the highly anticipated IBA Teacher-Student game lived up to its billing. The teachers, with a dominating performance in the first half, took a 15 point lead going into halftime. In the second half, the teachers showed their age and the students came roaring back and were one point away from tying the game in the final seconds. The teachers won a nail biter by a score of 45-44.


Track and Field team returns from meet in Ontario

May 1 - The Loyola Track and Field team competed in the annual Track Wars meet this past Friday, in Cambridge, Ontario. This marked the first time that Warriors Track has competed outside of La Belle Province. The competition was fierce but our Warriors were able to pull off top ten and top 5 finishes in many of the day's events. The day was capped off by 4 four Warriors (Jonah Smith, Dave Mancini, Nick Banousis, and Matteo Lorenzoni) competing in the thrilling steeplechase event. Congratulations to all who participated. Now it's time to prepare for GMAA qualifiers next week. Go Warriors!
